Nutrition & Productivity Workshops
Nutrition plays a key role in the way employees perform. Poor diet on the job is costing countries around the world up to 20 percent in lost productivity. According to a new study by the United Nations International Labor Office (ILO), the problem is two-fold: the malnutrition that plagues developing countries and the excess weight and obesity that afflict mostly industrialized economies.
- In the U.S., the annual economic costs of obesity (insurance, paid sick leave, and other payments) is $12.7 billion.
- In India the cost of lost productivity, illness, and death due to malnutrition is between $10 and $28 billion.
- The world is facing a "food gap," with one out of six people on the planet undernourished, and an equal number overweight or obese
It is proven what we eat creates our ability to think and function. Too often, food at work is seen as an afterthought or a hindrance by employers and is often a "missed opportunity" to increase productivity and morale. Vending machines are regularly stocked with unhealthy snacks. Local restaurants can be expensive, short in supply and unhealthy. Street foods can be bacteria-laden. Workers sometimes have no time or place to eat or no money to purchase food.
It is important to note how prevalent iron-deficiency is and how cheaply it can be remedied. Low iron, which affects up to half the world's population, is tied to sluggishness and diminished cognitive ability and thus accidents and low productivity. Most fast foods and prepared foods are lacking in needed iron and nutrients.
Providing healthy food at work or teaching employees how to eat healthy on their own is the best way to get people to eat at least one healthy meal a day, the one that effects their work day the most!

As we gain skill in understanding food we naturally become more in tune with our state of being on many levels. Diet helps us achieve balance both mentally and physically. The problem arises when we become conflicted with the vast options that are available to us. We begin to develop theories on what is “good” and what is “bad” when in fact all food has both healing and harmful qualities depending on the state of your body when you eat them.
To achieve a conscious and balanced way of living we must understand the basic principles of how we create ourselves with what we eat. We also must learn how food affects us and utilize this knowledge to create ourselves.
This workshop will give you the basic overview of the diets available to us today. It will show you how combining different foods can help create or destroy your energy. The workshop will help you simplify the vast amounts of information available regarding food and help you to create a way of eating that heals your body and mind.
